Focus on Energy 2022 Renewable Energy Incentives
Current residential incentives are $500, with a bonus $500 for qualified rural zip codes. Business incentives and special incentives for non-profits are also available . For more detailed information on business and non-profit incentives, go to Focus on Energy's website
Federal Solar Tax Credit
The Federal Solar Tax credit has helped many businesses and individuals to turn their renewable energy interests into a reality. 26% tax credit has been extended and is currently available through December 2022. For businesses, accelerated depreciation is available, allowing the customer to depreciate the project cost over a roughly 5 year period. See your finance/tax professional for details on how you can best take advantage of this credit based on your own circumstances.

RENEW Wisconsin Solar for Good
RENEW Wisconsin’s Solar for Good fosters the expansion of solar power among mission-based nonprofits and houses of worship in Wisconsin.
Through a generous partnership with local philanthropists, Cal and Laurie Couillard, RENEW Wisconsin awards solar panels to nonprofit organizations, helping them switch to clean, renewable, solar energy. Solar for Good also offers small grants for technical assistance to get projects started and see them through to success. Solar for Good helps publicize funded projects to spread the word and educate Wisconsin about the benefits of solar.
In order to receive the grant, the organization must be a registered nonprofit organization located in Wisconsin, be in good financial standing and able to accept donations, and own its building and/or be able to make necessary changes to its roof or property to accommodate solar. Please note that this program is designed to fund mission-based organizations. In addition, organizations receiving grants must agree to participate in educating community members about the benefits of solar energy.
Spring 2022 applications are being accepted April 1 - May 1. Grant winners will be announced by May 31,2022
